Hobert Hinkle, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his residence in Troy on Tuesday, June 11, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Bishop Hinkle; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Lilliard Lee, Velva Hinkle and David Boehnker, Wanda Hinkle-Ballard and Lloyd Ballard; a sister, Crystal Mayfield, three grandchildren, Michael Lee, Rachel Lee Schwent and Stella Hinkle-Boehnker; three great grandchildren, Sarah Schwent, Emilee Schwent and Joshua Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and LouVerna Bishop Hinkle. Mr. Hinkle was a founding member of Troy Baptist Temple; member of Troy Fish and Game; WWII US Army veteran; Honored at Holocaust Museum at Wright Pat as a liberator; avid sportsman who hunted, fished and bowled; was an award winning golfer; and a birdwatcher. He was part of the morning breakfast group at the Pastry Kitchen for the past 26 years. He retired in 1975 as a precision grinder at NCR afte 28 years of service; retired in 1985 from PMI. He was a ranger at Miami Shores Golf Course. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday, June 14 at Baird Funeral Home with services at Grace Baptist Church, Ludlow Falls, Ohio at 2:00pm Saturday, June 15 with Pastor John Young. Military honors at graveside. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio.
