Rev. Herman F. Kear, 87, of Kenton, Ohio, died at 12:38 PM. Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at Kenton Nursing & Rehab Center, Kenton, Ohio. He was born on March 13, 1918 in Richland Twp, OH to Loren D. and Dortha J. Baker Kear. He is survived by : Daughter and son-in-law: Betty Joyce and Vaughn Collins of Kenton, OH. Two sons and daughters-in-law: Robert H. & Linda Kear of Bloomington, IN and James E. & Janie Kear of Troy, OH. Nine Grandchildren: Robin & Keith Hughes, Renee & Rick Dunahue, Ryan & Tara Collins, Rodney & Alexa Collins, Rick & Katrina Collins, Russell Collins, Kelly & Calvin Clark, Jason & Christine Kear and Nathan & Kate Kear. Great-grandchildren: Keaton, Alex, Avery, Caidren, Kailey, Rachel, Zachary, Seth, Grace, and Corinne. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Clolata A. Turner July 14, 2004, one brother, Ralph Kear and two sisters, Irene Berg & Avonelle Davidson. Herman was a member of the East Ohio United Methodist Conference, State Teachers Association, 50- plus year member of F&AM of Sycamore, OH, Charter Member of Lions Club, Wharton, OH and recently celebrated 50 years in April, 2004 Herman was a graduate from Bluffton College with a Bachelor's degree. He was a retired Pastor and had pastored for many years with Smithville and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He was also a retired educator. Friends may visit at Baird Funeral Home Friday, September 30th, from 4-7PM. Services will be held 10:00AM Saturday October 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Troy. The service will be officiated by Rev. Theron Smith & Rev. Dennis Livingston. Graveside service will be at 2PM Saturday, Pleasant Ridge Cemetery- Sycamore. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Hardin County or Charity of Choice.
