Herbert Edward Semper Herbert Edward Semper, age 81, of Oxford, Ohio, passed away at 4:20AM on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Liberty Nursing Center of Oxford. He was born on September 17, 1929 in Forest Park, Illinois to the late Helmuth and Mary Williams Semper. His wife, Barbara Perry Semper, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Scott E. Semper of Dousman, Wisconsin; one brother, Warren Semper of Sun, Arizona; and two grandchildren, Ari Leopold and Ezra August Semper. Mr. Semper received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas in 1952. He was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and winner of the NCAA Championship for the Two Mile in 1950 and 1951. He worked as a salesman and later as a pharmacy technician.
