Obituary

Herbert M. Hawn, age 94, of Tipp City, Ohio died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006 at his residence. Born of the late, Harvey Hawn and Bertha Minnich Hawn. He was married to Hilda Young Hawn who preceeded him in death in 2001. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Alan Williams of Tipp City, Ohio; three grandchildren, John Alan and Cindy Williams, Scott Calvin and Pam Williams, and Darin Hawn Williams and longtime friend, Douglas Armstrong; four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Michael, Daniel, and Lauren Williams. A member of the Cove Springs Church, he formed the Indian Creek Rifle Club and was a member of the Shelby County Deerhunters Association. He was a farmer and mowed roads for the county for many years. Throughout his lifetime he gave his friends and family hours of enjoyment as they listened to his stories of days gone by. Making trails for the grandchildren and friends to ride their motorcycles, and building a facility for his gun club to enjoy. During deer hunting season he would get up early, build a fire in the hunting shack and have hot drinks and donuts ready when they came in to rest get warm and renew. He lived the Golden Rule.
