HELEN LOUISE CURRY

Helen Louise Curry, age 91, of Troy, OH passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH.  She was born on March 22, 1924 in Troy, OH to the late Hobart H. and Ella Marie (Sando) Mott.  She was married to Vernon E. Curry and he preceded her in death in 1969.

Helen is survived by her son:  Carl E. Curry of Vandalia, OH; daughter and son-in-law:  Barbara J. and Roger Parrot of Pickerington, OH; brother-in-law: Larry Smallenbarger of Troy, OH; sister-in-law: Lola Bottrell of Windsor, IL; grandchildren: Nicole (Tony) Wilhoff of Vandalia, OH; Craig Curry of Dayton, OH; Sarah (Jason) Lewis of Grove City, OH; John Parrot of Pickerington, OH; Ben Parrot of Athens, OH; three great-grandchildren:  Jessica Alexander and Rachel and Katie Lewis; one great great granddaughter: Aleigha Anna Marie Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law: Joyce Curry and sister: Doris Smallenbarger.

Helen was a 1942 graduate of Troy High School.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Troy, OH and a volunteer with the Upper Valley Medical Center from 1987 – 2013.  She retired in 1987 after 25 years of service with the Department of Human Services.

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy with the Rev. Bob Lybarger officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Stained Glass Window Fund or the American Cancer Society in memory of Joyce Curry.
