Harriet B. Garrett Harriet B. Garrett, age 94, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 11:50AM on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. She was born on April 16, 1915 in Taneyville, Missouri to the late Thomas E. and Eunice Stout Beall. She was married to Ross R. Garrett in March of 1937 and he preceded her in death in March of 1955. She is survived by one son, Roger Garrett of Gulfport, Mississippi; one daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Anthony Grillo of Chatsworth, California; two sisters: Shirley Middleton of Missouri and Nelda Clarke of Colorado; one brother and sister-in-law: Thomas and Maxine Beall of Colorado; and two grandchildren: Lindsey Gee and husband Jeff and Ashley Garrett of Mississippi. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth West and Jean Stuart She had been a resident of Troy since 1945 and was a member of the Ohio Nurses Association, National Nurses Association, and the Troy Historical Society. She enjoyed genealogy and traveling and remained very active. Mrs. Garrett was a registered nurse at Stouder Memorial Hospital for 40 years until she retired in 1985. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday October 22, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Friends may call from 5-8PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to USC Norris Cancer Center for Breast Cancer Research, 1441 Eastlake Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90033.
