HAROLD L. STAMBAUGH

HAROLD L. STAMBAUGH, age 84, of Piqua passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home, Piqua.  He was born on February 25, 1930 in Troy, OH to the late Orville and Minnie Mae (Brandenburg) Stambaugh.  He was married to Evelyn M. Stambaugh for nearly 63 years before her death on March 18, 2013.

Harold is survived by four children and their spouses: Tim and Sharon Stambaugh of Troy, OH Kenney and Cathy Stambaugh of Clinton, NC, Cheryl and Ron Trissel of Piqua, OH and Harold E. and Wanda Stambaugh of Piqua, OH; one sister: Ruby Mowery, Mesa, AZ; eleven grandchildren and their spouses: Heather and Brad Hall of Covington, Jody and Rick Cordonnier of Piqua, Kelly and Tony Canferelli of Pleasant Hill, Tisha Stambaugh of California, Jean Ann Stambaugh of Tipp City, Tara and Kevin Larison of Beavercreek, Aaron Trissel of Piqua, Mike Stambaugh of Troy, Chris Stambaugh of Troy, Megan and Andy Shaw of North Carolina and Jamie and Larry McNeil of North Carolina; 27 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.  In addition to his wife and parents, Harold was preceded in death by one sister: Patricia Byers; and one brother: James Stambaugh.

Harold was a member of Troy Nazarene Church.  He proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the US Army.  Harold loved fishing and jigsaw puzzles.  He also loved his family, especially his grandchildren.  Harold retired from Hobart Corporation after 25+ years of service.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Pastor Phil Elmore officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Full military honors will be presented by VFW Memorial Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
