Harold C. "Hal" Friend, age 85, of Sidney; formerly of Troy passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. He was born on October 7, 1931 in Fletcher to the late William H. and Viola (Basye) Friend.

Harold is survived by his wife of 66 years: Sue A. (Barger) Friend; sons and daughter-in-law: Steven H. Friend and D. Douglas (Rebecca) Friend, both of Troy and Brian E. Friend of Sidney; grandsons: Derrick and Korry.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law: Carol Jean Friend; two uncles; and one aunt.

Harold was formerly active member and volunteer at First United Church of Christ and St. John's United Church of Christ in Troy.  He was a former Cub Scout Master and a Registered Ohio Professional Engineer.  Harold retired after 30 years from Kodak as an engineer.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH with the Chaplain Larry Oberdorf, Jr. officiating.  Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
