Obituary

Harold Eugene "Gene" Shockey, age 72, of Troy, OH, passed away on Tuesday, April, 12, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on February 2, 1950 in Ravenswood, West Virginia to John Shockey and Betty (Salser) Shockey of Fairborn.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Cindy K. (Bailen) Shockey; daughter: Jennifer (Tim) Wendling of Springfield; grandchildren: Elizabeth (David) Shockey, Brittney Shockey, Adeline Mattachione and Joshua (Kayla) Wendling; great-grandchildren: Anna, Cora and Luke; nephew: David (Bonnie) Bailen; great-nephews: Austin and Zander Bailen; sister: Bonnie (Art) Taylor of Xenia; nieces: Lisa Adams and Amy Taylor; great-nephews: Dylan and Noah Adams, and Michael (Korinne) Pace; great-niece: Samantha Van Hoose; great-great-nephew: Cohen; great-great niece: Novalee.

Gene was a private pilot and a member of the Upper Valley Fun Flyers and Flying Angels.  He retired from Hobart Corporation as an Engineer.  Gene enjoyed radio-controlled planes, quilting, woodworking, camping and being on the go.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
