Hanson E. Phelps Hanson E. Phelps, age 83, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 12:10AM on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Troy Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on October 4, 1925 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky to the late Harlan and Mae Phelps. His wife of 64 years, Emma Jean Belden Phelps, survives. He is also survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Donald Phelps of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Dennis and Pam Phelps of Tipp City, Ohio; two daughters and a son-in-law: Nancy Kuehne of Sidney, Ohio and Merry and Terry Unger of Piqua, Ohio; two sisters: Betty Jean Irwin of New Castle, Indiana and Amy Phelps of Chicago, Illinois; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Phelps was preceded in death by one son, David Phelps Sr., two brothers: Ronnie and Oral Phelps and one sister, Elizabeth Branch. He was a graduate of Flemingsburg High School in Kentucky. Mr. Phelps was a member of the Troy Fish & Game Club and was a plant manager for Joint Hospital Services at Upper Valley Medical Center, Piqua, Ohio. No services will be held.
