H. David "Dave" Young, age 80, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.  He was born in Springfield on November 28, 1934 to the late Harold Young and Alma (Otte) Young Laird.  His wife of 61 years, Barbara J. (Mitchell) Young, survives.

Dave is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Diana and Roland "Duke" Steck of Huber Heights; and one brother: Phillip Young of FL.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: George Young.

Dave proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy.  He was a member of Cove Spring Church.  Dave was owner and operator of Midwest Beer Distributing in Dayton.

Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Greg Morrow officiating.  Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery in Casstown.  VFW Memorial Honor Guard will provide military honors at the cemetery.  Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
