Guy J. Borchers, age 52, of Troy, Ohio died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Upper Valley Medical Center Emergency Room, Troy, Ohio. He was born October 22, 1957 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Paul J. and Cecelia Voisard Borchers. Guy is survived by his wife, Mary K. Simons Borchers of 29 years; daughter and son-in-law Cari and Andy Minnich of Troy, Ohio, daughter and significant other Jenna Borchers and Adam Lampert of Orlando, Florida, son, Tyler Borchers of Troy, Ohio; one grandson, Jackson Minnich; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Shirley Borchers of Tipp City, Ohio, Tom and Kathy Borchers of Troy, Ohio, Phil and Carol Borchers of Russia, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Tom Doseck of Russia, Ohio; mother-in-law, Kate Simons of Versailles, Ohio, brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Connie Schuette of Versailles, Ohio, Jim and Karen Raterman of Versailles, Ohio, John and Ann Frigge of Troy, Ohio, Dave and Cris Schmitz of Versailles, Ohio, Steve and Beth Simons of Russia, Ohio, Steve and Lu Huels of Troy, Ohio and Karl and Rob Ratermann of Ft. Loramie, Ohio; 34 nieces and nephews and 31 great-nieces and nephews. Guy was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Noah J. Simons. He was a 1976 graduate of Russia High School and 1980 graduate of Wright State University. He attended both St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia, Ohio and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, Ohio. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served on the YMCA Board of Directors, Miami County Bike Trail Committee and the Miami County Park District Advisory Committee. He was an avid biker active in recent bike tours including GOBA, Tour of the Sciota River Valley, and Blue Ridge Parkway. He loved coaching basketball and baseball. Guy was a District Sales Manager at SEW Eurodrive Corporation in Troy, Ohio, where he was an employee for the past 30 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Monday, September 20, 2010 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd. Vandalia, Ohio with Rev. Fr. Francis Keferi officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery Troy, Ohio. Friends may call at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio on Sunday 2:00pm – 7:00PM with Knights of Columbus Prayer Service at 7:00PM.
