Gregory Allan Longacre passed away at StoryPoint of Troy at the age of 77 after a lengthy battle from Parkinson's on December 5, 2025. He was surrounded by his close friends upon his passing.

Gregory is survived by his siblings: Russell Longacre, Barbara Nelson, Tim Longacre, and Mick Longacre. He was preceded in death by his wife: Peggy Longacre in 2008.

Gregory graduated with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from the University of Dayton in 1971. He served with honor for four years in the United States Air Force from 1971-1975. Gregory then graduated with a master's degree in educational administration/counseling from Central Michigan University in 1980.

Gregory spent his career working in higher education as Program Director and Director of Continuing Education for various colleges and universities in Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia. He was actively involved in professional organizations as follows: Chamber of Commerce, International Management Council, American Society for Training and Development, Ohio Continuing Higher Education Association, and Central Ohio Adult Education Association. Gregory also volunteered with various church ministries, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the animal shelter.

Gregory spent the last six years at StoryPoint Senior Living facility where he touched many lives with his kindness and card ministry.
