Grace Gates is surived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shella and Ray Shrout, Patricia and Jim Scott; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Janet Gates and Gary and Leslie Gates; brother, Kenneth Routt; sister, Alice Anderson; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Gates was preceded in death by  her husband, Clarence E. Gates  and parents, Allen J. and Lettie Sorrell Routt.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Troy.  She was retired from Dinner Bell Meats, Troy.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
