Goldie Mae Smith, 79, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Friday, February 4, 2005 at the Covington Care Center, Covington, Ohio. She was born on June 8, 1925 in Troy, Ohio to the late Ransome and Daisy Cromes Rose. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Anderson and her second husband, Clarence Smith, who passed in 1985. Mrs. Smith is survived by her three children, Son and Daughter-in-law: Marvin and Nancy Anderson of Troy, OH; Daughters and Sons-in-law: Jean and Ralph Drake of Troy, OH; and Rita and Floyd Beach of Hallstead, PA. Also surviving are a sister, Fern Smith of Piqua, Ohio. Mrs. Smith has eight grandchildren, Jeff Anderson of Milford, OH; Robert Deb Anderson of Troy, OH; Holly Foster of Destin, FL; Matt Trish Foster of Urbana, OH; Jill Matt Byrd of Federal Way, WA; Kim Kevin Gorman of Kirkwood, NY; Chuck Sterling of Fairhaven, MA; and Becky Brian Sweeney of Hagerstown, MD. Also she has one step grandson, Rod Michelle Drake of Troy, OH. Also sixteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Paul Rose and Willard Rose. She retired in 1987 after 34 years of service with Dinner Bell Company and a member of Local Union #1099. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 2:00PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Roger Toon of the Good Shepherd United Presbyterian, Piqua, Ohio.
