Obituary

GLENN R. PARSON, age 78, of Troy, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.  He was born on August 11, 1939, in Jackson, OH to the late Estill and Ermal (Miller) Parson.  His wife of 60 years, Winona Marie (Ruckel) Parson, survives.

Glenn is also survived by children: Glenn Roger Parson, Jr., and wife, Michelle,  of Farmersville and Shirley Taylor, and husband, Michael, of Troy; four brothers: Leonard (Patty) Parson and Robert (Betty) Parson, both of Quincy, KY, Curtis Parson of Garrison, KY and Dennis (Patty) Parson of Portsmouth, OH; two sisters: Violet Royster of New Carlisle, OH and Inez Burns of Garrison, KY; eight grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Sharon K. Fisher Koeller; one brother: Elwood Parson; and one sister: Eldean Parson.

Glenn attended Alcony Grace Church.  He loved going flea marketing.  Glenn retired from Hobart-PMI after 35 years of service.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Steve Marcum officiating.  Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, OH.  Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
