Obituary

Glenn Abdon, 86, of Troy, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at the Veteran's Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Abdon; three sons and daughters-in-law, Billie W. and Karol Abdon of Otway, Ohio, Rodger G. and Carolyn Abdon of El Paso, Texas and Charles C. and Yvonne Abdon of Nashville, TN; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Hollis Martin of Troy;stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Wendell Slone of Dayton, Ohio, Nona and Darryl Rose of Georgia, Kim and Rick Timcik of Florida; stepson and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Debbie Hooker of Pennsylvania; brothers, Freeman Abdon of Load, Kentucky and Roy Abdon of Greenup, Kentucky; sisters, Louise Kegley of Troy, Ohio and Violean Bradley of Chicago, Illinois; nine grandchildren and seven step grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Thelma P. Abdon, his sister, Josephine Burns and brother, Ted Abdon. Mr. Abdon was born February 26, 1920. He was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church of New Carlisle, Treasurer of the Greater Dayton Association of Southern Baptists, and Campers on Mission. Services will be held at 10:00 am , Monday, February 12 at First Baptist Church, New Carlisle, with Pastor Rick Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington. VFW Honor Guard Military Honors will be conducted at graveside. Friends may call from 2-4 PM Sunday, February 11 at the funeral home.
