Glendora Robbins Bristley, age 90, of Troy, Ohio died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Harborside Healthcare Center, Troy. She was born February 9, 1916 in Darke County, Ohio to the late Gerald B. and Donna M. Netzley Robbins. She attended elementary school in Bradford, Ohio and also Franklin-Monroe School, Pitsburg, Ohio where she graduated in 1934. She loved sports and excelled as an outstanding basketball player at Franklin-Monroe High School. She owned and operated for many years along with her husband, Carl R. Bristley, whom she married on November 26, 1936, Bristley's Rooming House at 207 East Main Street in Troy. She also worked in the Troy High School cafeteria for many years and retiring from there. She and Carl were the parents of four children, Pamela Ann Bristley Karnehm Gene, Deceased of Troy, Ohio, Letitia Rae Bristley Myers Tom of Bradenton, Florida, son Michael Evan deceased at birth, and Robin Renee Bristley Hunter Dett of Kirtland Hills, Ohio. She leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Lou Adams of Troy and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bernice Robbins Gnodle and her husband, Carl R. Bristley, who died September 21, 1987. She was always devoted to family, friends and working hard. She will always be remembered, admired, and greatly missed. Services will be held 10:30AM Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Sheila Shumaker officiating. Interment in Abbottsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph's House, Troy High School Gymnasium Fund, or Troy-Miami County Public Library.
