IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glen Vernon
Honeyman
November 4, 1939 – January 22, 2017
Glen Vernon Honeyman, age 77, received everlasting peace on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his devoted wife and family after a valiant battle with lung cancer. He was born on the family farm in Troy, OH to Forrest and Stella (Wackler) Honeyman. He graduated from Troy High School in 1957, married Patricia L. McBride in 1958 and soon had three daughters.
In 1968, he started his own business, Glen Honeyman Home Improvements, from which he retired after thirty-four successful years. He enjoyed woodworking and restoring antique Chevrolets. He was a long-standing member and former officer of the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America (VCCA).
He and Pat belonged to the "Hickory Nut Gang" in Fort Loramie which lead to many memories, lifelong friends and a few questionable photographs. He was active with his classmates, meeting once a week for breakfast at Lincoln Square. He loved traveling with his wife by motorhome or car, antique or newer model. He enjoyed playing cards with a close circle of friends every Friday evening for over 30 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two grandchildren Jesmond and Judd Boehringer. He is survived by his wife Patricia; daughters Teresa (Chris) Boehringer, Tina (Mike) Duff and Tracy Honeyman; five grandchildren Nathan (Laura) Boehringer, Seth (Samantha) Boehringer, Samantha (Garrett Fisher) Honeyman, Zack (Katie) Feltner and Kayla Duff and twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Donald (Linda) Honeyman and sister Alice (John) Sheafer.
Services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses of Dayton Physicians Network in the Good Sam North Chemo Lab and Hospice of Miami County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County, PO Box 502, Troy, OH 45373. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.bairdfuneralhome.com.
Glen had an irrepressible smile, an honest work ethic and truly kind heart and leaves a legacy of humor, kindness, loyalty and "true grit" from which his family and friends will draw strength and courage for years to come.
