Gladys Marie Emerich Smith, 85, of Troy, Ohio, passed out of this life on Saturday, March 15, 2003 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio. She was born to the late Albert M. & Della Ely Emerich on July 7, 1917 in Shelby County, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a stillborn son, stepdaughter Phyllis Leonard, 2 brothers, Homer and Clarence Emerich. She is survived by step son-in-law; Bill Leonard of Piqua, sister-in-law; Mildred Emerich of Humble, Texas; Niece,Virginia Emerich McClellan of Humble, Texas; and 2 great nephews, Michawl McClellan of Tempe, Arizona and Donald McClellan of Humble, Texas. She has 3 step-grandchildren; Michael Leonard, Cherrie Leonard, and Christie Ailshire. She has 2 step-grandchildren, Nathan and Amy Leonard. Gladys was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Troy Senior Citizens and Funtimers and Grandmothers Club # 369. She graduated in 1935 from Lena High School.
