Gladys M. Hughes died at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, Ohio on Wednesday, August 29. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: George J. and Jerlene Hughes, Jr., Jack and Patricia Hughes, Nancy and John Gates; daughter-in-law, Bell Hughes;brother, Jack Monk; sisters, Rose Lasley, Margaret Bostic and Nell Combs; eighteen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Hughes, Sr.; her parents, Jefferson and Ada Richardson Monk; son, Bob Hughes, daughter, Shirley Hughes; two infant sons; two brothers and two granddaughters. Mrs. Hughes was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lebanon, Vriginia. Memorial contributions are requested to American Heart Fund.
