Gladys Drill Corgin, 97, died at Harborside Healthcare, Troy, Ohio on Wednesday, November 12, 2003. Mrs. Corbin is survived by a daughter, Alice R. Corbin of Austerlitz, New York; son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Phyllis Corbin of Greenville, Ohio; sister, Esther Drill Krabill of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Beth Deal and Jeff Deal of Yuba City, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.E. and Bertha Estella Shives Drill; her husband, Robert S. Corbin in 1959; a brother, Daniel and three sisters, Dorothy, Edna and Louise. Mrs. Corbin was a member of First United Methodist Church, Troy, Ohio; former church assistant treasurer and former secretary and treasurer of United Methodist Women circles; 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star #256 of Troy, Ohio; charter member of American Association of University Women. She was class valedictorian - graduate of Greenville High School; graduate of Bowling Green State University; first female Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the Ohio State University College of Commerce and Administration. Mrs. Corbin was a former business education teacher with Bethel local schools; former secretary in Greenville and Columbus and while her husband was living, owned and operated the Corbin Markets in Troy. Personally, Gladys enjoyed crocheting; gardening of flowers and plants. Visistation will be from 3-6PM on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 and one hour before the service at Baird Funeral Home in Troy, Ohio. Services will be at 10:00AM Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at Baird Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Place, c/o First United Methodist Church, 110 W. Franklin St., Troy, Ohio or Drill Family Memorial c/o Darke County Parks, PO Box 801, Greenville, Ohio 45331.
