GIACOMO J. SCALICE, age 65, of Troy, passed away surrounded by his family at Kindred Hospital in Dayton on Thursday, January 21, 2021.  He was born on August 4, 1955 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Anthony and Shirley (Peterman) Scalice.

Giacomo is survived by his wife of 41 years: Cristine E. (Counts) Scalice; four children: Giacomo Scalice II of Bakersfield, CA, Tony Scalice of Troy, OH, Lindsay (Josh) Taylor of Casstown, OH and Amanda (Danny) Miramontes of Piqua, OH; one sister: Cindy (David) Kent of Howard City, MI; ten grandchildren: Lacie Taylor, Sophia Stuchell, Julia Scalice, Anthony Scalice, Tristan Miramontes, Samuel Miramontes, Matthew Scalice, Harlee Taylor, Vera Miramontes and Frankie Miramontes; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ben (Pam) Wolfe of Covington, OH and Cathy Johnston of Troy, OH.

Giacomo was a 1973 graduate of Rockford High School, Rockford, MI.  He attended Edison State College, Urbana University and then received his M.S. from University of Phoenix, as part of the first local graduating class.  Giacomo loved his family, friends, and dogs immensely.  He served our country in the US Navy as a Cryptologic Technician and respected & supported other vets.  Giacomo enjoyed fishing annually in the backwoods of Canada with family and friends.  He was a hockey FANTATIC and goalie for the Troy Sabres back in the 80's and he could fix ANYTHING!  Giacomo and his wife, Cristine, were owners of Giacomo's A Salon in downtown Troy for 15 years and retired in 2019.  He loved all things Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Louie Prima, Eric Clapton, and the Eagles, and he was one of the ONLY Xichigan fans in Ohio!

Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021   at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Elks Lodge of Sorrow Service and a Memorial Service will begin at 5:00 PM on Wednesday followed by full military honors.
