Gertrude M. Sotzing Gertrude M. Sotzing, age 84, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 2:50PM Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the SpringMeade Retirement Community Tipp City, Ohio. She was born March 9, 1924 in Troy, to the late Edward and Georgie Campbell Starry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Sotzing in 1999. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Sotzing was preceded in death by two brothers, John and James Starry and one granddaughter, Cyndi Sotzing Clark. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Dennis Cruse of Troy, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Dots Sotzing of Huntingburg, Indiana; two sisters, Hazel Furlong of Tipp City, Ohio and Georgie Cyphers of Piqua, Ohio; four grandchildren: Todd Cindy Cruse of Pickerington, Ohio, Greg Erica Cruse of Sidney, Ohio and Shanda Kivett and Shera Sotzing both of Newburg, Indiana; three step-grandchildren: Megan, Adam and Dara Niehaus of Huntingburg, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren: Madison, Tyler, Troy and Alisha Cruse, Zane Clark, Alexus, Hannah and Nolan Kivett and Shayla Rogers; five sisters-in-law: Thelma Ashmore of Troy, Lucy Gray of Casstown and Pauline Buirley, Betty Sotzing and Judy Sotzing all of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Troy, Ohio and retired from Star Bank. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Dale Christian officiating. Interment will be at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Friends may call from 4-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
