GERALDINE "JERI" BOWEN

Geraldine "Jeri" Bowen, age 92, of Troy, passed away at 12:23 AM on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Upper Valley Medical Center Troy. She was born August 20, 1922 in Marion, Ohio to the late Henry and Elsie (Martin) Plantz.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Arthur, Ivan and Paul Plantz; her husband: Coy in 1999; and one son: Leo in 2008.

Surviving are four grandchildren and spouses: Brenda and Bill Thornton, Ken and Tana Bowen, Betsey and Tommy Henry and Lesia and Dave Schultz; twelve great grandchildren: Nathaniel and Erica Schatz, Joshua Thornton, Matthew Thornton, Benjamin Huffman, Thomas Henry, Lucas Henry, Carson Henry, Jared Bowen, Jorden Bowen, Jacob and Diana Favorite, Justin Favorite and Ashlee Schultz; eleven great great grandchildren: Preston, Carter and Victoria Schatz, Makinsley Huffman, Bailey, Cadence, Chance and Ryder Favorite, Bree, Abby and Jilly Favorite: her brother: Harold Plantz of Pt. Pleasant, WV; and her sister: Geneva "Dolly" Stanley of Pt. Pleasant, WV.

She is a member of First Baptist Church, Troy for over 65 years and she was a homemaker.  Jeri loved working in her yard, tending to her garden and flowers and enjoyed outdoors.  She had a love for her church and family and never met a stranger.  Jeri loved talking to everyone and enjoyed sharing many stories over the years.  She was a hard worker and enjoyed staying busy from dawn to dusk.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Pastor Dale Christian and Pastor Douglas Magin co-officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
