Gerald Espy, age 88, of Troy, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 26th, surrounded by family.

Jerry was born on March 18, 1937 to the late Forrest and Doris Espy of Dayton, Ohio.

Jerry is proceeded in death by his loving wife of over 65 years Judy. Along with his parents, two sisters; Joan Harper and Carole Larson, many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends.

He is survived by his daughter: Julie (Duane) Puckett of Troy; two grandchildren Chris (Amy) Kenworthy of Troy, Jessica (Ben) Woods of Fletcher and five great-grandchildren; Gentry, Ryker, Maggie, Nolan and Clayton.

Jerry was a 1955 graduate of Northridge High School. While working he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering through Sinclair. He was employed by Reick Services for over 34 years, spending the last 10 of those years as President of the company. Jerry was awarded the prestigious award for Outstanding & Devoted Service as President by the Sheet Metal & Roofing Contractors Association of the Miami Valley. He was also Chairman of the Sheet Metal Workers Association apprenticeship program.

Jerry was able to retire at the age of 56, it was a priority of his to have a long retirement and be able to enjoy his life with Judy and the family on their farm.

In his younger days, Jerry was an avid golfer, racquetball and tennis player. He was once a member of the Ohio Antique Tractor Pullers Association, the Miami Valley Country Club and Cove Springs Grange. He had a special place in his heart for animals and never turned away a stray.

Jerry enjoyed spending his later days visiting with family and friends from the comfort of his porch where he'd often sit and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature.

If you were lucky enough to know Jerry, you know he lived his life. If you were lucky enough to really know Jerry, you know he lived his life for his beloved Judy.

The family will hold a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Casstown Cemetery.
