George O. Woods George O. Woods, age 80, of Casstown, Ohio passed away at his residence on Thursday morning, January 20, 2011. He was born on April 18, 1930 in Troy, Ohio to the late George Woods and Constance Benjamin Woods Stewart. His wife of 54 years, Doris Eileen Harris Woods, preceded him in death on April 26, 2006. Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, George S. and Laura L. Woods of Troy and Philip L. and Bobbye A. Woods of Troy, Ohio; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and companion, Bea Stafford. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister. George was a 1950 graduate of Troy High School. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ of Troy; Harmony Lodge No. 0008 of Urbana; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton; Cushman Club of America and a life-member of the Troy Fish and Game. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. George retired in 1992 from Hobart Corporation after 34 years of service. Services will be held 2:00PM Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Stephanie Haines officiating. Interment will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown, Ohio.
