George Edward Small, 73, of Troy passed out of this life on Thursday, July 17, 2003. He died at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio. He was born December 14, 1929 to the late Caleb Edward & Elizabeth Izella Heslep Small in Winona, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Clara A. Burns Small and two children; Randall & Cindy Small of Venice, Fla.; and Teresa Poling of Troy, Ohio. Four grandchildren; Doug & Linda Poling of Troy; Kristy & Patrick Chapman of Troy; Nicole Lane Small of Myrtle Beach, SC; Randall Lee Small II of Venice, Fla. Seven great-grandchildren; Taylor, McKenna, Lainee, Gavyn, Kylie, Cole, and Braylee. Also surviving are Brothers & Sister-in-laws; Jack & Peggy Small of Inkster, Michigan and James & Faye Small of Rupert, W.Va. Mr. Small was a member of Troy View Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith, and enjoyed his retirement winters in Florida. He retired in 1993 from the City of Troy.
