George R. Shoop, Jr, age 64, of Troy, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at his home. He was born in Troy, Ohio on October 16, 1954 to the late George E. Shoop and Kathryn (Harper) Johnson.

George is survived by his wife of 40 years: Jacqueline "Jackie" (Furrow) Shoop; children: Beth Shoop of Troy, Jamie (Chris) Freese of Troy, Drew (Brandon Meyer) Shoop of Troy, and George R. Shoop III of Texas; grandchildren: Anthony, Peyton, Shane and Jacob Shoop, Piper and Harvey Freese, and Paisley Meyer; great grandchildren: Braxton Webster and Princeton Shoop; sisters: Barb (Doug) Carson, Becky Trostle and Beverly Fulton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, David Shoop.

George was a 1974 graduate of Miami East High School.  He was a member of the Troy Fish and Game and Marty's Pool Club.   He was a retired meat cutter at Meijer and donated to United Way through Meijer for over 20 years.

A service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home with Doug Carson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10-1PM prior to the service.  Interment will be at Casstown Cemetery.
