George R. Schiely, age 67, of Troy, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 08, 2014 at his residence.  He was born on March 14, 1946 in Dayton, OH to the late Ora Schiely and Pearl (Smith) Schiely.
George was married to his wife of 25 years, Patricia A. (Meyer) Schiely who survives.

In addition to his wife, George is survived by two stepchildren, Cynthia Reynolds of Knoxville, Tennessee and Russell Reynolds of Dayton; brothers, Tom Schiely, and wife, Debbie, of Xenia and Steve Schiely, and wife Jo, of Clayton; and sisters, Patty Preston, and husband, Dave, of Dayton and Diane Roberts, and husband Berry,  of Wilmington.  In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Smith.

George was a graduate of Gratis High School.  He served in the US Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Chrysler in Dayton.  George loved to travel.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on March 29, 2014 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.
