George Bayman George W. Bayman, 84 of Troy, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 at Upper Valley Medical Center. George was born March 14, 1922 in Lockington, OH to the late George and Lucille Dorsten Bayman. He married Marcella Earick Bayman in 1946 and enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Marcella survives along with children, Georgia Bayman and fiance David Werts of Tipp City, Bruce and Debbie Bayman of Fletcher and Chris and Evelyn Bayman of Tipp City. Also surviving are brothers Charles Richard and Gloria Bayman of Carrollton, Ga., Jack Bayman of Palmer Lake, Co., and sister-in-law Lillian Bayman of Piqua. George has four grandchildren; Michael, Matthew, Jason and Amanda Pressel as well as three great-grandchildren, Mason and Madison Bayman and Jonah Pressel. George was a 1940 graduate of Brown High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and is a Veteran of WWII serving in the African and European Campaigns. He received the Purple Heart during the Battle of the Bulge in Germany. After the war, George returned home and was active as a Boy Scout leader and was a member of the Brukner Herb Society. He was also very creative and enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, collecting antiques, restoring homes and woodworking; each attributes that continue in the family line to this day. He was retired from West Milton Precision Machine and Tool. George was a devoted family man and wonderful husband who loved his family, wife, children and grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. A private family service is being held Thursday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy with Mike Werts officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brukner Herb Society.
