Gary D. Hawkins, 76, of Troy, passed away at 7:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital.  He was born in Troy, Ohio, on August 13, 1948 to the late Harley and Athena (Ingles) Hawkins.

Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years: Pamela (Seitz) Hawkins; his two sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Tisa Hawkins of Troy and Todd and Amy Hawkins of Casstown; five grandchildren: Jacob, Rachel, Abigail, Emily and Gabrielle; two great grandchildren: Bentley and Hudson; a sister: Kathy Rademachir of Troy; and a brother: Jeff Hawkins of Troy.  He was preceded in death by his sister: Joyce Ferguson.

Gary was a member of the United Auto Workers (UAW), where he served as President for 21 years.  He retired from B. F. Goodrich, Troy, after 44 years of service.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, wood working and carpentry.  He also enjoyed driving his truck.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown.
