Frederick P. ''Rick'' Hales Jr., 53, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at the Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born on Janurary 22, 1951 in Troy, Ohio to the late Frederick P. and Mary Alice Elifritz Hales Sr. He is survived by his sister & brother-in-law; Pat and Dave Polhamus of Piqua, Ohio; Niece; Debbie & Chris Noll of Pleasant Hill, Ohio; nephews; Tony & Polly Frock of Southside, Alabama; Robert ''Bo'' Frock of Piqua, Ohio; Mike & LeAnn Frock of Spokane, Washington; two step-nieces; Lori & Joe Gibson of Piqua, Ohio; Lisa Polhamus of Bangor, Maine; five great-nieces; Cassie & Brian Gantt; Stephanie & Shelly Noll; Brooklyn & Morgan Frock; one great-nephew; Travis Frock; four step-great nieces; Shannon; Ashley and Angel Gibson; and Chelsea Briner; two step-great nephews; Terry and Branden Briner; two great great nieces; Madelaine and Maureen Gantt; and one aunt, Esther Hayes of Troy, Ohio. Along with his parents preceding him in death, also a sister, Diane Rae. He was a longtime Nascar race fan and a Richard Petty Fan Club member for over 30 years. He loved all sports and TV. He was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1971. He formerly worked at Holiday Inn in Troy, and attended Sunrise Day Care, Troy and Piqua. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Piqua or Troy Ambulance Fund; Koester Pavilion Activity Fund or Sunrise Adult Day Care Center.
