Fred E. Davis, 94, of Troy, Ohio passed out of this life on Friday, January 16, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Sidney, Ohio to the late Charles and Mecie Maxwell Davis on July 6, 1909. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Jane and Doug Campbell of Troy; three grandsons, Skip Fred McConnell and Barb Spigarelli of Kansas; Michael and Maryse McConnell of New Hampshire and Joseph McConnell and Erik Haagensen of New York. Granddaughter, Shelly and John Denney of Troy; nine great-grandchildren, Monica and Brian Ellis; Michelle and Travis Huffine; Jennifer McConnell; Marc and Kelly McConnell; Alexis McConnell; Sarah Boehringer and Joshua Boehringer. Stepgreat-grandchildren: Aaron and Alexandra Denny and seven great-great-grandchildren. Sisters-in-law: Dorothy Davis of Tipp City; Dorthea Davis of Piqua; Edna May and Jean May of Troy. Niece, Robin and her husband, Tony Delgado; Nephew, Jeff Davis and his wife, Berna and their children, Robert Hutchinson and Jennifer Davis. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by brothers, Franklin L. and Robert M. Davis. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church; Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Elks Lodge of Troy. He was employed with WACO Aircraft during WWII and was an area contractor for residential housing. As a hobby, he raised and raced race horses. He was a strong role model and hard worker. His grandchildren have fond memories of going to building sites with their grandfather. The sharing of his skills and knowledge have benefitted the family for a lifetime. Visitation will be at the Sarah Hayner Dickey Chapel in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. James C. Wilson II will be officiating the service.
