Franklin Warren Sharits Sr., 79, of Troy, Ohio died on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. He was born on March 31, 1927 in Troy, Ohio to the late John Wesley and Myrtle Mae Elicker Sharits. He married Bettie Detrick Sharits and she survives his wife of 61 years. Also surviving are son & daughter-in-law: Ray and Annabel Sharits of Montreal, Canada; daughter & son-in-law; Connie & Vaughn Fine of Lebanon, Tennessee; daughter-in-law; Linda Sharits of Florence, Kentucky; grandchildren, Carina Sharits of Montreal; Kelly Quail of Lebanon; Mark Fine of Baltimore, MD; Rodney Sharits of Florence, KY; Jacob Sharits of Florence; KY; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Korey, Jordan, Samuel Franklin, Rachelle and Todd, also one great-great granddaughter, Madison. He was the last member of the family; he is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. He is also preceded in death by his son, Franklin Warren Sharits Jr. in 1998. He attended First Baptist Church; was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII; was a lifetime member of both the Redmen's Lodge and the Troy VFW. He was a retired Truck Driver with City Transfer and Storage Company, Troy, OH and worked part-time with Sears Hardware Store, Troy, OH. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006 @ 11:30am at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with Pastor Dale Christian officiating. Burial will be in Honey Creek Cemetery, Christiansburg, Ohio. There will be VFW memorial honor guard at the cemetery.
