FLOYD E. RESLER , age 96, of Conover passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Heartland of Piqua.  He was born on March 24, 1918 in Troy to the late Bertram and Charlotte "Lottie" (Fosnight) Resler.  In 1940, Floyd married Sara "Josephine" Drake.  She preceded him in death in 2010.

Floyd is survived by a daughter, Sara Duff of Casstown, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Judy Resler of Troy, Ohio; grandchildren, Rita (Ken) Petersen, Chris (Marilyn) Duff, Melinda (Jon) Laughman, Jon (Regina) Duff, Lucia (Omer) Duncan, Kyle Resler, Kara (Kevin) Hamilton and Lori (Jeff) Smith; great-grandchildren, Jenna (Brent) Clark, Stephanie and Zack Duff, Mallory (Casey) Wilkins, Jesse (Sloane) and Madeline Laughman, Veronica  and Jon-Max Dotson, Max and Joseph Duncan; Kayla and Kole Resler, and Violet Hamilton; and great-great-grandchildren,  Madison and Sofie King and Baine Clark.  Floyd is also survived by several nieces and nephews in the area.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Heffner; a son, Gene Resler; son-in-law, Max Duff and great-grandson, Nicholas Duff.

Floyd proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during WW II.  He worked as a Tool & Dye Maker for Linden Tool & Manufacturing where he was a shop foreman.  Floyd was a member of Cove Spring Church in Walnut Grove, where he was a Deacon.  Floyd enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Fort Myers, FL.

Graveside services will at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Casstown Cemetery with Pastor Greg Morrow officiating.  Burial will follow in Casstown Cemetery, Casstown.  Full military honors will be presented at the cemetery.  Friends may call from 9-11 AM on Saturday at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.
