Florence McAllister of Troy passed away on Friday, October 25 at Harborside Nursing Homee in Troy. She was 94 years old. She was born January 26, 1908 to Anton Jacob and Pauline Christianson Hoff in Concord, Massachusetts. A resident of Troy since 1950, she had resided at Harborside for the past 6 and1/2 years. On August 22, 1934, she married Gordon McAllister in Concord, Massachusetts and in 1950 she and her husband moved their family to Troy where they resided for the remainder of their lives. One of five daughters, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon 1987 and her four sisters, Olga, Cornelia, Alice and Esther. She is survived by her son and wife Donald and Carroll McAllister of Longmont, CO and her twin daughters and husbands, Sally and Roland Reich of Deerfield, Illinois and Susan and John LaGraff of Jamesville, New York. She had eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all. Florence was a long-time member of the Troy Alturian Club and a member of the First United Church of Christ in Troy for 52 years. She dedicated many hours to volunteer work in Troy. Services will be held Monday, October 28 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Carol Bastin officiating. The family will be available for visitation beginning at 10:00am and the service of remembrance will begin at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at the First United Church of Christ, 120 South Market Street, Troy, OH 45373.
