Fern Elizabeth Smith Fern Elizabeth Smith, age 94, of Troy, Ohio died Thursday evening, March 4, 2010 at Heartland of Piqua. She was born December 2, 1915 in Troy, Ohio to the late Ransome and Daisy Cromes Rose. She is survived by two nieces, Jean Ralph Drake of Troy and Rita Floyd Beach of Hallstead, Pennsylvania and nephew, Marvin Nancy Anderson of Troy and several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Goldie Mae Smith and two brothers, Paul and Willard Rose. Fern was a cook at the Flash Restaurant in Troy for many years where her wonderful meals will be remembered by many people. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Monday, March 8, 2010 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio.
