EVERETT G. BAKER, age 79, of Troy, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy.  He was born on February 26, 1937 in Hazard, KY to the late Delbert and Diana (Smith) Baker. His wife of 58 years, Maude Alice (Brewer) Baker, preceded him in death on March 17, 2015.

Everett is survived by four daughters: Dora (Brent) Rutledge, Teresa Lantis, Alice (Nick) Gwin and Brenda (Greg) Stewart, all of Troy; one sister: Dorothy Lowe of Troy; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Diana Posey; one great granddaughter: Hannah Stark; one sister: Betty Owens; and one brother: Jim Baker.

Everett was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy.  He was also a member of Troy Fish and Game and BPOE Elks Lodge #833 in Troy.  Everett proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force.  He retired from Kimberly Clark after 35 years in 1997.  Everett had his pilot's license, enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, golf and fishing.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Baird Funeral Home in Troy.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Troy.  Friends may call from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
