Esther Irene Hoover, age 85, of Pleasant Hill, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Ohio's Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy.  She was born on April 2, 1938, in Troy, to the late Charles Calvin and Mollie Elizabeth (Bare) Ganger.

Irene is survived by one daughter: Sheryl (Jason) Lankford of Pleasant Hill; four grandchildren: Amanda (Jesse) Flinn, Cameron (Stephanie) Mead, Alexus Lankford and Ashley (Donald) Kline; and five great grandchildren: Hunter Fregia, Heyden Fregia, Ty Kline, Kelsey Kline and Caleb Mead.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Dick Bare, Charles Ganger and Ernest Ganger; one sister: Ruth Cruea; and one great granddaughter: Albrie Fregia.

Irene retired in 1999 from Covington Care Center, where she was a nursing assistant.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
