Ernestine Louise (Greven) Bondurant, age 81, of Troy, OH passed away on October 29, 2021 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy surrounded by her family.  Erna was born on April 18, 1940 in the Netherlands to the late Aaldert Greven and Grietje (Russner) Greven.  In addition to her parents, Erna was preceded in death by her husband: Gene A. Bondurant; daughter: Marjorie (Bondurant) Fraley; infant brother and sisters: Doddema (Puckie); Greta Adams and Dini McDaniel.

Erna is survived by her sons: Gene (Kim) Bondurant of Georgia and Allen Bondurant of Troy; daughter: Amy (Matt) Weidig of Indiana; special grandson: Bryan Bondurant; granddaughters: Jennifer (Jeremy) Cox, Brooke (Clay) Rutherford, Blair (Nathan) Waller and Bailey Weidig; grandsons: Blake Bondurant and Cody Weidig and greatgrandchildren: Luke, Lilly and Lance Rutherford; Liam and Kathryn Waller; Andrew and Lincoln Cox and Madison Bondurant.

For 42 years she worked at the family owned Ice Cream business and before that the Dutchboy Restaurant.  In her spare time, Erna liked to knit, sew, do word search puzzles, watch CSI Miami and attend musical concerts.  She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, going to thrift stores, taking short bus tour trips and going to Indiana and Georgia to watch her grandchildren play sports.  She collected Delft Blue Dishes and Precious Moments.  Her favorite colors were blue and red and she liked all flowers, especially tulips.  Fall was her favorite season of the year.  She came to the USA in April of 1954 after graduating high school in 1953.  She was of the Protestant faith and worshipped at Ginghamsburg Methodist and Cornerstone Baptist.  Her personal thought was to be healthy.  She had a special relationship with her grandson, Bryan, whom lived with her for many years.

Services will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Baird Funeral Home in Troy with interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-12:00PM on Friday at the funeral home.
