Emma Jean Giles, age 79, of Huber Heights, OH passed away on August 10, 2023 at the Hospice of Dayton.  She was born on March 7, 1944 in Miami County, OH to the late Arthur Henry Cox Sr. and Mildred Irene (Studebaker) Cox.

She is survived by her children: Melinda (Ken) Cogley of Lordstown, OH; Melanie (Mark) Horton of Huber Heights, OH; Philip (Rachel) Alspaugh of Tipp City, OH and Melissa Behr (Fiance' Alex Hallafou) of Huber Heights, OH; siblings: Arthur Cox Jr. of Piqua, OH; Ruth Williams of Port St. Lucie, FL; Shirley Rhoades of Troy, OH; Jerry (Edith) Cox of Cincinnati, OH and Kristy (David) Campbell of Piqua, OH; 24 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; her best friend and life companion: Kim Giles of Tipp City, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law: Elsie and Norman Avey Sr. and sister-in-law: Edith Cox.

She was a graduate of Miami East High School.  She spent her life helping to care for others, both physically and spiritually.  She loved her family and friends and never put a stranger out.  The joy of her heart was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Above all else, she loved her Lord and Savior.

Services will be held at 5:30PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, OH.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:30-5:30PM on Wednesday.  Private interment will take place at a later date.
