Emma L. Davis, 84, of Troy, Ohio died Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy, Ohio. She was born on September 16, 1921 in Owensville, Kentucky to the late Willie and Ynona Sorrell Barber. She married Charles W. Davis, and he died on July 3, 1986. She is survived by her son and fiance, Larry Davis and Kathryn Ward of McArthur, OH; four grandchildren, Charles Penny Etherington Davis of Troy; Melissa Paul Newberg of Troy; Holly Dwight Snyder Davis of Troy; and Wally Rhonda Holderman Davis of Brookville, OH; five great-grandchildren, Alec Newberg; Davin Snyder; Hallie Snyder; Brent Newberg and Brittany Etherington; and former daughter-in-law; Laura Davis of Troy, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Brooks and Willie Barber Jr. and sister, Lottie Hedrick. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy, OH; volunteered at Stouder Memorial Hospital in Troy for many years and was a member of ladies auxiliary of the Casstown Fire Department. Funeral services will be held at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio on Thursday, June 29, 2006 @ 10:30am. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. Friends may call on the family, Wednesday, June 28, 2006 from 4-8PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or Upper Valley Medical Center Auxiliary.
