Emil "Andy" Anderson, age 81, of Troy, Ohio passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at Koester Pavilion, Troy, Ohio. He was born July 15, 1931 in Troy, Ohio to the late Art and Elsie Hansford Anderson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Sowry Anderson; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Robert Williams of Troy; his son, Steven friend, Delores Hardin Anderson of Dayton, Ohio; his grandchildren, Elisa Jason Thurmond, Megan Ronald McKee, and Nicholas Robyn Anderson; his twin brother, Emmett Anderson of Piqua, Ohio; and his sister, Shirley Shiltz of Troy, Ohio. He was also Pop-Pop to his great-grandchildren, Evan and Max Thurmond, Parker and Brady McKee, and Reme and Sullivan Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Doris Weatherhead, Peggy Miller, Don Anderson, Doug Anderson, Janet Newman, and David Anderson. He attended Elizabeth Schools. He was a United States Marine Corp. Veteran, a member of First United Church of Christ, Troy, Troy Fish and Game, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was retired from BF Goodrich Co. in 1992. Services will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy with the Pastor Lauren Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy with Honor Guard services. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00PM on Monday, August 6, 2012 at the funeral home with an Eagles Service to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
