Ella Louise Bogan, age 69, of Troy, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Upper Valley Medical Center due to complications from surgery.  She was born March 2, 1949 in Blanchester, Ohio to the late Allen Isiac and Leona (Steele) Kairn.

Ella is survived by her husband of 48 years: Terry E. Bogan of Troy; son: Brett (Laura Chaney) Bogan of Troy; siblings: Lucy (Gerald) Shumaker of TN; William (Patrice) Kairn of Middletown; granddaughter: Clara; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents; Ella was preceded in death by her sisters: Ruth Ratliff and Melba Smith; and brothers Joe Kairn and Allen Kairn.

Ella was a member of the Troy First United Methodist Church and Wright State Alumni Association.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Baird Funeral Home with Reverend Ty Williams officiating.  Friends and family may call two hours prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ella Bogan Memorial Fund, PO Box 452, Troy, OH 45373.  This fund will be a perpetual fund managed by Free To Run Foundation, and it will support various projects for gender equality and women's empowerment around the world.
