Elizabeth R. Beard Elizabeth R. Beard, age 91, of Troy, Ohio, passed away at 1:18AM on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. She was born on February 19, 1918 in Piqua, Ohio to the late William R. and Bethel D. Cruse Brading. She married Damon Beard in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Danny Davis of Casstown, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Nancy Beard of Troy; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Bill Brading and Bob and Nancy Brading all of Piqua; two sisters: Mildred "Jack" Hulme of Houston, Ohio and Bethel "Peg" King of Washington; a sister-in-law, Marge Brading of Georgia; seven grandchildren: Craig Davis, Chris Sharon Davis, Beth Doug Wical, Mark Beard, Amy Scott Breisch, Jill Blumburg and Cherryl Rick Blevins; and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Snyder and Mary Richardson; two brothers: Jim and George Brading; one grandson, Mike Beard and one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Blevins. Elizabeth was a graduate of Piqua High School. She had been a resident of Troy since 1939 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Troy, the Staunton Grange and the Farm Bureau Council. She also enjoyed traveling. Elizabeth was a cafeteria manager at Hobart Manufacturing for 10 years. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Jeff Haverfield officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy.
