Obituary

Eldon "Jay" Jordan Eldon "Jay" Jordan, 57, of Troy, OH, died at 2:27PM Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at his residence, succumbing to Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was born February 18, 1950 in Flemingsburg, KY, to Audie Jordan of Flemingsburg, KY and the late Dorothy Crawford Jordan. His wife of 20 years, Katie Webb Jordan, survives. In addition to his wife, Jay is survived by his daughter, Sarah Bailey of California; sons, Matt Asher Bailey of New York and Luke Jordan of Fairborn, OH, half-brother, Stanley Gulley and his wife, Sandy of Maysville, KY and niece, Lisa. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother and his sister, Judy in infancy. He was a member of the Ginghamsburg Church of Tipp City. He was a lay pastor, chairman of the Love Fund, participated in the furniture ministry, and was a table facilitator of the Ministry by Strengths, Followers Life, and Forgive for Good at Ginghamsburg. Through the church, Jay discovered that his passion in life was to take people who had needs and connect them to the resources they could use to solve those needs. Jay was very active in the ALS Association. He was a volunteer for the CASA/GAL and a member of the Dayton Lodge #147 F&AM and BNI. He served in the US Air Force as a Staff SGT from 1968-1972, serving in Vietnam for one year. Jay retired after 29 years as a Fleet Agent for US Airways. He was self-employed with Entrepreneur Source for two years and was also a licensed massage therapist. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Ginghamsburg Church, Tipp City, OH Main Campus with John Jung officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Friends may call from 4-8PM Friday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of Southern and Western Ohio and the Ginghamsburg Church Love Fund.
