Edwin A. "Ed" Plate, 44, of Troy, Ohio died suddenly, Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. He was born on May 30, 1962 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Uldis and Laima Nille Plate, and they survive, both of Tipp City, Ohio. He married Natalie A. Rea, his wife of 11 years, and she survives along with his son, Brandon A. Plate; stepson, Randy A. Payne and stepdaughter, Amber N. Payne all of Troy. Also surviving is sister, Ruth D. Frost of Tipp City, OH; brothers, Andrew J. Plate of Fremont, Michigan; Richard R. Plate of New Carlisle, Ohio and niece, Jennifer N. Frost of Tipp City, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his grandparents. He was very proud of his Latvian Heritage. He was very patriotic and friendly person. He enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycles and boating. He was a 1980 graduate of Tipp City High School, Tipp City, Ohio. He was employed for 25 years with the Kroger Company, most recently at the Troy location. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio with the Rev. Sheila Shumaker officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Troy, Ohio. Friends may call on the family, Friday, June 9, 2006 from 5-8PM at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio. Contributions may be made to the Educational Fund for his son, Brandon, C/O Fifth Third Bank, Kroger branch.
