Edward C. ''Eddie'' Van Horn, age 88 of Troy, Ohio died Friday, June 14, 2002 at his residence. Preceeded in death by his parents, Bradford M. Van Horn and Minnie Gorrell Van Horn; first wife, Ermina Bittinger Van Horn; brother, Colin Van Horn. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Vicky Van Horn; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Norm and Lorrie Long and Robert and Judy Long and nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A member of the First United Church of Christ, Troy and Troy Senior Citizens. He played Santa Claus for many years, answering children's mail from his holiday mailbox. He also enjoyed decorating the home with lights for the holidays each year. A graduate of Troy High School he was retired from Hobart Corporation after 41 years of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Miami County.
