Edward L. Dye, age 77, of Troy, OH passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit in Troy.  He was born on September 2, 1943 in Miami County, OH to the late Joseph Franklin and Catherine M. (Hoover) Dye.  He was married to his wife of 50 years:  Dorothy (Ceyler) Dye and she preceded him in death on September 6, 2020.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Chad E. and Rachel Dye; daughters: Angela D. Dye; Melissa Olson and Kymberly Rudd; brother: Charles William (Shirley) Dye and sister: Cathy Graham; grandchildren: Jacob Hirsch, Abby Hirsch, Eve Dye, Anya Dye, Perry Olson, Brittney Olson, Ronnie Olson, Cody Dye and Ashleigh Dye Hall; and great grandchildren: Kylie Dye, Summer Hall, Peyton Hall and nine additional great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother: Stephen Dye.

Ed was a member of the Troy Fish and Game Club.  He retired from CSX Railroad after many years of service.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Baird Funeral Home, Troy.  Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Vandalia.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
